Mongolian Art & Science Alliance for Biodiversity Conservation
- link Mongolian culture and art, science and biodiversity conservation -
Its objectives
The Mongolian Art and Science Alliance for Biodiversity conservation has been created on the 22d of September 2011 by Anne-Camille SOURIS and the Association GOVIIN KHULAN.
That Alliance will gather together Mongolian artists (painters, calligraphers, photographers, musicians, actors, …), scientists and specialists working for species and biodiversity conservation in Mongolia with the common objectives to:
- illuminate Mongolian endangered species, nature and its biodiversity by using Mongolian art. Mongolian wildlife and endangered species are rarely illustrated in Mongolian art. It is why we think to be important and interesting to work with Mongolian artists on this concept, to illuminate wildlife and species as being part of the natural and cultural heritage of Mongolia, and to increase local population appreciation for these species.
- reinforce links between Mongolian art and culture with species and nature protection,
- raise public environmental awareness of Mongolian citizens and the international public by using Mongolian art and culture,
- promote Mongolian art and culture worlwide,
- contribute to Mongolian art and culture preservation.
It will be included in actions our organization already started since 2009.
Several activities, workshops, events will be organized as part of this Alliance. We will keep you regularly informed here.

He combines the styles and themes of Mongolian traditional painting with contemporary Asian art in “a bridge between old and new art.” Scenes of ancient daily life, echoes of his nomadic, Central Asian roots, themes of Tibetan spirituality and traditional Japanese techniques all go into the unique mix he brings to his canvases. Using a technique that fuses watercolors, gouache, brushes, and mixed media, Zaya works with a warm yet somewhat dark palette.
